USED DIRT BIKES

Tips on Buying Used Dirt Bikes and Pit Bikes Online

Looking for used dirt bikes for sale? Well, I recently spent a couple of weeks trying to hunt down the best bargains on cheap dirt bikes and used pit bikes, so here are a few tips that I hope will help other people in similar situations, and save them a little time.

Decide What Type of Dirt Bike or Pit Bike You Prefer

First of all, start of by deciding what you’re looking for in advance. There’s so much out there in the way of cheap used dirt bikes, that if you don’t have at least some guidelines about just what you’re looking for, you’re going to be overwhelmed. One of the best ways of narrowing down the field of used pit bikes, is by deciding what price range you want to shop in, or what kind of power you’re looking for.

Some Places To Look For Used Dirt Bikes and Pit Bikes

Good places to look for cheap used dirt bikes are: magazines, newspapers, classifieds, bulletin boards (You’d be surprised at what’s for sale on the bulletin board of your local grocery store), websites, eBay, auto-traders, extreme sporting retailers, etc. There are so many different places that you can find used dirt bikes that I really could devote paragraphs and paragraphs to list them. But that would get pretty boring, so hopefully the examples I’ve given will be enough to get you started.

Again, it can help to narrow your options down further at this point. How would you like to buy your cheap mini dirt bike? Are you a confident internet shopper, or do you feel more secure buying things in person?

One of the advantages of online shopping, is that there are some real bargains out there! One of the downsides is that there are some real scams, so be careful. Even online, there are reputable retailers, and disreputable retailers, and you probably want to try to get your cheap mini bike from the first group. One clue as to a company’s reputation is whether or not they have a returns or warranty policy for faulty goods. If you’re shopping used dirt bikes, then you’re less likely to be offered the luxury of even a standard, ninety-day warranty, so you’ll have to find your own way of judging whether the person you’re buying your used pit bike from is for real.

If you do choose to buy online, then you have the extra headache of deciding how you’re going to pay for your cheap mini dirt bike. Obviously, cash isn’t an option. Usually, it’s a decision between paying by credit card or paying by PayPal. At this point, it could be worth investigating what features your credit card comes with, as some offer buyer protection or insurance against fraudsters, and shoddy, different-from-advertised.

This can be really great if you see a great deal on a cheap used dirt bike, but are unsure of whether it might actually be too good to be true.
