POCKET CROSS BIKES

Differences Between Electric And Gas Pocket Dirt Bikes

What are electric pocket cross bikes? Electric pocket cross bikes are electrically powered versions of cross bikes, aimed at children and young teens, or for non-competition, recreational adult users. Instead of using a combustible fuel, such as gasoline, electric pocket cross bikes run on rechargeable batteries that can be recharged from the mains outlet in your home.

Cheap Pocket Cross Bikes

As such, electric pocket cross are much cheaper to run than gas pocket cross, but are only able to achieve speeds much lower than those achieved by gasoline cross bikes; and are seen more as an introduction-level item for kids or teens, or a novelty item for adults, similar to pocket bikes. Despite this, electric pocket cross can reach speeds upward of 20 or 30mph, and are certainly not children’s toys.

Electric pocket cross can cost anywhere from $500, to $1000. With this kind of upfront cost, many people feel it’s better to simply buy a gasoline powered mini cross bike for roughly the same price, however there are extra costs to consider with a gasoline mini cross bike, that simply do not apply to electric pocket bikes. For one thing, electric pocket cross bikes do not require that you buy gasoline for them, but instead will only result in a slight spike in your electricity bill. This means that you don’t end up paying $800 for a recreational vehicle, which you then never use, because it costs you so much every time that you take it out on the road, or rather, off the road. Also, electric pocket cross bikes generally have less maintenance costs, since there are fewer replaceable parts, and you’re not dealing with a substance like gasoline, which is prone to clogging up your system.

Disadvantages of Electric Cross Bikes

The obvious downside to electric cross bikes is, of course, the drop in performance in comparison to gasoline powered cross bikes. Whereas gas mini cross bikes can reach speeds of 60+pmh, electric dirt bikes are pushed to manage that. In other words, if you’re serious about you’re off-roading, and you really want a pocket cross bike that screams, then you’re probably better off forking out on a gasoline powered dirt bike.

Similarly, if you’re planning on competing in pocket cross bike competitions, an electric dirt bike is no substitute for the real thing. However, if you’re looking for an off-road vehicle for casual, recreational use, such as going out into the fields with some friends, or just rambling around by yourself on a Sunday afternoon. Or even if you want something that your kids or teenagers can have a little fun on, then an electric cross bike, such as a Razor Dirt Bike could be the way to go. It’s cheap, it’s clean, without any fumes, and if you’re not expecting miracles, it can deliver enough performance to really get your blood pumping!
