Kawasaki KX85—A Great Gift for Boys
A dirt bike makes a great gift for a boy who is adventurous, brave and loves the outdoors. It will give him a taste of what it is like to have freedom and power, and will give him a sense of confidence when using it. Also, since there are a good number of people now taking up motocross, then having a dirt bike is one great way to make friends who have similar interests. These are only some of the reasons why you might consider getting your son a dirt bike.
Special Sizes
Even if your child is not yet adult size in terms of physical stature, don’t worry, because not all models are the same size. There are, in fact, models that are made specifically for young riders. These are smaller, and are designed with proportions that are appropriate for young people who are not yet fully physically developed. The height of the saddle, for example, is much lower, to enable your child to maintain balance well, even when not moving. The handle bars are also low, so as not to get in the way of your son’s field of vision. The wheels are generally much smaller because of the proportions of the other parts of the bike and have large treads to allow for maximum traction.
More Control
Small bikes, (also known as mini motocrossers) are also safer than the full sized bikes for one reasons: they are smaller and less powerful. This means that they weigh less and are therefore easier to handle, and they also have smaller engines, so that your child will be limited as to the amount of power his bike can give out (which should be a big relief for you as a parent).
The Kawasaki KX 85
One of the best mini motocrossers out in the market today is the Kawasaki KX85. It has been around for a number of years, and the fact that the line has been continued attests to its reliability and good performance. The latest model, the KX85 2011, is definitely something that you should consider at the top of your list. It has a two-stroke single engine with KIPS (Kawasaki integrated power valve system), which greatly improves low and high rpm power on the bike. It has an 84cc displacement, which is not large, but more than enough power to haul the lightweight bike and your son around the dirt track and up muddy inclines. It’s bore x stroke is 48.5 x 45.8mm. It also comes with a Cerburetion Keihin PWK28.
Looking For A KX85 For Sale
When searching for a KX85 for sale, try to look online first. This will allow you to get an idea of how much the bike costs, and what options you should be able to get with it. This will also allow you to examine the bike’s specs at your own pace and do as much background research as you like (as opposed to going to the bike shop and being overwhelmed by the information the attendant will offer you).
